Mojto or beer gelato? Marco Vazzola creative and ambitious, has added to the classic gelato offer a series of flavours to famous cocktails and alcoholic beverages. In the second-generation gelatiere, Marco took over the family gelato parlour in 2008, which his parents opened in 1972 and was originally called ‘Eiscafè Venezia’. Taking over the management, Marco initiated an innovative change and deepened the study of ingredients and recipes, experimenting with production techniques to develop new flavours and different tastes in the gelato shop. To confirm this innovative step and give the relevant message, he changed the name of the gelato parlour From Eiscafé Venezia into Eiswerkstatt (= gelato laboratory). Constant is the use of high-quality products and many regional ingredients. The milk, he uses to make gelato is exclusively bought from a farmer a few km. from the laboratory, as well as all the seasonal fruit for the sorbets. Marco has participated in many international events over the years, winning various prizes. In 2012, 3rd place in the Coppa D'Oro competition in the Junior category; in 2016, he was selected as one of the 16 finalists in the Best Gelato Shops in the Germany section at the international Gelato World Tour competition. Also in the Gelato World Tour competition 2014 he conquered the second place and at the same time won 1st prize in the public vote with the Haselnuss Herz flavour, which later on became a classic in his parlour. Haselnuss Herz is a flavour that mixes the best Piedmont hazelnuts with Belgian chocolate, whole caramel hazelnuts and chocolate chips complete it. In 2014 he developed a gelato for dogs, officially registered and known under the brand name ‘Dog Gelato’. Thanks to the use of fresh ingredients, balanced by a nutritionist, enriched with coconut oil and chicory fibre, without sucrose or glucose, nor preservatives, DOG Gelato was certified as Gourmet Gelato. Starting out as a niche product, Dog Gelato is now one of the most popular dog treats in Germany. The four-legged friends' favourite flavours are salmon, cheese and liver sausage. To each his favourite flavour! Thanks to its awards and commitment, its Eiswerksatt has gained an image of high quality craftsmanship.
