Eiscafé Rizzardini

Pronesti Rocco

Bleichstr. 3, 76593 Gernsbach

Eiscafe Rizzardini Innovation and respect for the environment hold great value for Rocco Pronesti, owner of Eiscafé Rizzardini together with his wife Monica and sons Lorenzo and Tiziano, respectively 3rd and 4th generation of gelatieri. The parlour has a modern equipment for reduced electricity consumption, a heat recovery system, which lowers C02 by as much as 7650 kg per year, and even small details such as the washer-dryer for the portioning machines, which thanks to direct washing reduces water consumption by many cubic metres per year. But not only technique, passion for gelato is the main driving force behind Rocco Pronesti, who started his career as a gelatiere in 1986 and in 2001, together with his wife, took over the historic Eiscafé Rizzardini in the old town of Gernsbach in South Germany. Rocco attends regularly training courses and is certified AdA (Ausbildung der Ausbilder) to be able and authorised to take on and train apprentices in the artisanal production of gelato. Together with his sons, who inherited the passion for gelato from him, he is always experimenting with new flavours, to enrich the offer in the shop window, alongside the classics. Noteworthy are e.g. blueberry with lavender, raspberry with rosemary and his excellent white chocolate. Not only their gelato, but also their sauces and variegates are made fresh by hand, and the dried fruit used in the gelato is ground by them in the laboratory. The Pronesti gelato is known for its quality, freshness and originality far beyond the borders of the town of Gernsbach.

Most recognisable for: Almond with salted caramel, triancria (a creation of pistachio with rapsberry variegate) and a excellent white chocolate with pistachio creme.
