Gelateria Pieruz, a long tradition The Gelateria Pieruz in Krefeld was opened in 1959 by Giorgio Pieruz, a native of the Zoldo Valley in Veneto. Today, the family parlour is run by Matteo De Fanti, in the fourth generation. After a complete renovation in 2024, the original premises from 1959 were restored, even using the same materials and reproducing more elements of the furnishings of the time. In this way, Matteo wished to create continuity with the past in a modern version. With this restoration, the Pieruz parlour has taken up the italian model of a GELATERIA, i.e. one offering only gelato. Here you will find a remarkably large gelato counter offering a huge selection. Every day the proposal varies according to what is most suitable seasonally, up to a maximum of 42 different flavours. Matteo decided to focus on gelato to offer an excellent product with fresh, regional and high-quality ingredients. In addition to a standard range of classic flavours, there are flavours with fresh seasonal products in rotation. Worthy of note, however, are the following flavours: Sahnegrieß (creamy grits) with raspberry and the Torta della Nonna (carrot cake with the italian cheese mascarpone). Among the classics, we would like to mention the Malaga flavour, which is still made using Grandpa Giorgio's original recipe.
