Eisdiele Sanremo - From Lake Como to Northern Bavaria Gelato must have authentic and recognisable flavours. This is the motto of Augusto De Pellegrin, owner in the third-generation of the Sanremo Gelateria in the central square of the historic town of Kulmach in Bavaria. Daily processing to offer fresh gelato made from high quality raw materials for cream gelati, sorbets, an offer of classic flavours and many others in seasonal rotation. With the gelato, everything around gelato is also produced with dedication and experience in the family labor: from sauces, liqueurs, toppings, gelato cakes and parfaits, including the classic Italian “spumoni”. The family tradition, started in 1929 by his grandfather Camillo, in Bellagio on Lake Como, is carried on by Augusto, with passion and pride, adapting to today's challenges and developing ethically sustainable ways of working, such as saving energy and using regional ingredients. Augusto took over the business 25 years ago from his father Beniamino, who was the one, who decided to leave Bellagio in 1950 to open his own parlour in Kulmbach. Not only gelato, but also coffee, a product of great importance in the gelato parlour, was the challenge for Augusto to start a parallel business, 15 years ago, opening a family roasting company. After a careful search for small coffee plantations in Central America, with production respecting the environment and the conditions of the local farmers, the De Pellegrin coffee roasting company now produces coffee not only for its own needs in the parlour, but in view of the growing demand, supplies coffee beans and ground coffee to customers and residents of Kulmbach.
Most recognisable for: Great gelato in all classic flavours and the best coffee in town as they manufactured their own coffee thanks a family roasting company.
