Passion - Quality - Well-being is his motto. New trends and flavours are tracked down and tested. Fancy and innovative gelato varieties are constantly being added to the classic offer to present new flavour experiences. The quality of the raw materials is of particular concern to him and so a careful selection is also made for all new recipes. The philosophy that applies to all recipes is that gelato is minimalist: at Fontanella’s it always has one ingredient less. GELATO thrives on simplicity. Dario Fontanella invented 1969 the most famous Gelato sundae in Europe: Spaghetti-Eis. He represents the third generation of a long family tradition, which started in Italy 1906. It was his father Mario Fontanella, who continued the business in Germany, opening 1933 the first gelato parlour in Mannheim.
