In 1971, aged just 15, Dino Dall'Anese travelled to Germany for the first time during the summer holidays. In Kahl am Main, he learnt the art of artisan gelato production from established Italian compatriots. He initially gained experience in a parlour in Bad Homburg until, in 1978, he and his wife Patrizia fulfilled their dream and opened their Venezia gelato parlour on the market square in Nortof. Patrizia and Dino delighted their loyal customers right from the start with their Italian flair and love of their work, as well as their continuous training and product development. In the years that followed, the Dall'Anese family continued to surprise their guests with Italian nights (20 in total), wine tastings, aperitif evenings, participation in town events and gastronomic events, bringing Italian culture and flair to Nortorf and the surrounding area. The success of the gelato parlour in Nortorf and the support of the family led Patrizia and Dino to open six more parlours between 1980 and 1998. The last one to date was opened in Kropp in June 2017. Daughter Laura and son Antonio are now carrying on the tradition. The next generation is here - it goes on - welcome!
