Passion, tradition and innovation are the values close to the hearts of Davide Arnoldo and Stefania Fattor, owner of the Eis Café Cortina. Both Davide and Stefania come from families with a long tradition in the world of gelato. Davide, originally from Val di Zoldo, is a 4th generation gelato maker and in 2011, together with his wife Stefania, took over the family gelato parlour of the parents of Stefania. ‘La Cortina’ as customers have always called it, is a historic gelato shop, founded in 1960 by Stefania's paternal grandparents and has become over the years an institution in Saarburg, a town rich in history and surrounded by hills of vineyards. In this marvellous setting, which blends history and fairytale landscapes, Davide is mainly involved in the production of gelato, combining the traditions of the past with the innovations of the present. He has gained a long experience working in the past in various parlours in Italy and Germany, and during the winter months working as a technician for a leading gelato company. The importance of always acquiring new knowledge is another cornerstone of his work.
Most recognisable for: Excellent classic flavours and some seasonal creations, like Brise of Saar, strawberry with coconut and mint.
