The family Mattiuzzi has been running 2 gelato parlors in Soltau - in the heart of the Lüneburg Heath - for 25 years. Originally from the Val di Zoldo, known as the “Valley of the Gelatieri”, they are proud to continue the family tradition in the third generation. When selecting the ingredients, great importance is given to quality and sustainability and they prefer regional ingredients, for example the salt from the local Soltau salt works for the salted caramel ice cream and apples from the Altes Land region for apple sorbet. Particular attention has been paid to modernizing the machinery in order to reduce CO2 production. This includes, for example, the use of engine heat to heat the process water. Thanks to digitalization, they shorten production times and customers can order their favourite ice cream specialities online from the comfort of their own home using an intelligent order management system.
