Gelateria F.lli Bortolot

Stefano & Dario Bortolot

Moselpromenade 1, 56812 Cochem (Germany)

The F.lli Bortolot parlour in Cochem has been in business for over 60 years, but the history of the Bortolot family with Gelato begins much earlier. 1896 the brothers Celeste, Antonio and Vittorio Bortolot left their village Zoppé di Cadore, in the heart of the Dolomites, and emigrated to Vienna, where they started with a mobile gelato stand. 1983 Celeste’s grandson Fausto took over his cousin Antonio Bortolot's parlour in Cochem. Since Fausto's sons, Stefano and Dario, followed the tradition and since 2003 have been running Gelateria F.lli Bortolot together with their father. 1996 - 2004: Fausto is chairman of UNITEIS e V. (Union of Italian Gelato Manufacturers in Germany). 2000 - 2004: Fausto is Chairman of ARTGLACE (Confédération des associations des glaciers de la Communauté Européenne). December 2020: Stefano is elected President of Uniteis. July 2014: The gourmet magazine Dissapore includes their parlour in its list of the 50 best ice cream parlours in the world (outside Italy).

Most recognisable for: 2014 at the competition Gelato World Tour : Award 1. Prize by the technical jury (quality) for the flavour ‘Vineyard Peach with Prosecco’.
